HV Switchboard Panel Upgrades

High Voltage Switchboards in excess of 20 years old will typically have electromechanical protection relays of various makes and models. Many of these relays are now obsolete. Most protection panels of this era will also have numerous relays and other devices for each HV panel, each performing one particular function.

Global Testing Services has taken this on board as an Industry-wide problem requiring an effective solution. In essence, the upgrade of such protection panels is a necessity in order to ensure continued reliable switchgear operation in the integral part of any industrial operation – electricity supply. Most protection panels can be replaced with a suitable panel to match the existing switchgear, and most importantly, fitted with a state-of-the-art microprocessor-based protection relay. In most cases a single protection relay will be able to perform all required protection functions, as well as the capability to have communications to existing sitewide control systems.

Global Testing Services has the capability to carry out the entire upgrade, including design (including schematic and termination drawing modifications), supply, installation, testing and commissioning.
